What does a German Shepherd do when He sees Me Sleeping

He pokes you a little with his nose to see if you would like to wake up and give him some attention; he suspects that you are not really asleep. But then when you don’t get up, he decides to not bother you, and he lays down next to your feet- facing out, which is what dogs do, they watch the area near your feet- which you can’t see- and face away so that they can guard you. It’s instinctive in some breeds. He is watching over you. He is a good dog- I think he deserves a cookie.Dogs know when their human family are really asleep by the breathing pattern sound.. He was very patient walking around in circles a couple of times, that was his game too! LolThis is exactly how my mates German shepherd dog was like with me whenever I slept over at his place after a night out, she was very attentive like a mother would be. Obviously concerned, it shows they care 😉😉The hardest part of having a Dog is one day being forced to confront the moment where you have to eventually say Goodbye 😪Miss my GSD a lot, used to wake me up every morning like this. Was so brilliant to understand that if I had fever it used to come near me and sit quite. took its last breath in 2017.But it taught me what is true love and affectionMy Shepherds hated it when I hid under the blankets. They would poke and prod until they got their noses in there, and we’d all start to play together. It was a fun game we played. I LOVE Shepherds!Rocky is a good pupper! Rocky knows that dad almost always sleeps in bed, so he’s not sure what’s going on. Rocky licks dad’s feet because he want to make sure dad is responsive. What a good boy!I had a German Sheppard dog, many years ago, she passed away and I missed her so badly. When I was very sick, she was always sitting beside my bed, and she would put her head on my pillow, and licked my face, she warried about me so much! She used to bring bones and tryed to put on my pillow! I new it was from her heart! I miss her all my life, had many other dogs, and each of them was kind, special, loving. They don’t have a long life, but they stay forever in our hearts, i still see them sometimes in my dreams.I believe dogs really just want to be near us. Of course the basics of food, water, and exercise are the most necessary things; however, the companionship as social animals is vital to their survival, IMO (not to mention ours). In this video, I believe the dog is guarding and protecting the guy. I love the way he circles around him several times, and sniffs him all over. Dogs get information through their sense of smell, far more than we are conscious of. Finally, he lays down next to him. This is really a beautiful scene.Rocky is such a beautiful German Shepherd.
