uMom told me that back when I was a young kid & we had a cat and dog, whenever Mom heard cats fighting & our cat was out, she’d let our dog out and the dog would chase off the other cat the escort our cat home, smelling him all over as if to check that our cat was OK!I’m not much of a cat guy, but a few years back a kitten showed up at the house. I gave it a warm place to sleep, food and water by the side of the house. Within a week it was in the back yard with the pits, and inside through the dog door within 2 weeks.So we now have a cat that thinks it’s a pit. She will even go on walks with us.Reminds me of my dog. When other cats chase or fights with my cat she runs straight to our dog and acts like she’s her boss and gives a little pat so the other cats are scared of her like”damn she has a dog as a bodyguard”.When I was a wee lad, we had for a while a young German Shepherd who did not, get along with our black long hair cat.Woody (the Shepherd) was usually staked out in the backyard with a very long run chain, so he had like a 30 ft radius circle to run in. Point being that the chain pulled him up about 2 ft short of our fence. Are black long hair (Inky) would sit on the fence just out of Woody’s range, just to piss him off. It worked. 😏My favorite from another video was a kitten raised by a Golden Retriever Mom and pups. The kitten grew up thinking he was a dog and jump into the lake to fetch just like his brother dogs. He swam better than his brother dogs.
